Short Term Programs

Global Homestay Program

Our most popular group program! Students enjoy days filled with survival English instruction, half and full day outings, and memorable moments with their host families. Programs are typically two to four weeks in length, but Global Partners can customize the program for shorter or longer durations, as necessary. English lessons are held four mornings a week and each lesson is three hours long. Afternoons are spent exploring North American culture and attractions. Most programs also include one full day excursion per week. Global Parnters strives to incorporate community familiarization and involvement into all of our programs. As such, students will have the opportunity to learn about and take part in North American volunteerism and interact with North American Youth. Great memories are made in this program!

English Village Program

English Village Program takes English Language learning one step further! We hire only ESL qualified teachers to lead our intensive morning English classes. Instruction is theme-based and focused on improving the listening and speaking skills of the students. All students take part in private oral interviews at the beginning and end of the program in an effort to evaluate skills improvement. Students receive interview scores as well as personal assessments from their teachers at the end of the program. In the afternoons, students participate in "Action English" - a wide variety of fun activities within the local community that are designed to build upon and actively use the language learning skills shared in the morning's class. If you are serious about English and serious about fun, this is your program!

Work Experience Program

College students aged 17-22 participating in our four-week Work Experience program gain a deeper understanding of North American culture. This program provides students with a unique learning opportunity to study at a college or university while gaining practical work experience in the Host City. As with all of our programs, the homestay is key to learning while enjoying the comfort of a family environment. Each week students receive 12 hours of ESL instruction, 2 full days of work experience and one full day outing. Choose from a variety of work placements, from retail and office work to agricultural and farming assistance. Global Partners Work Experience participants take part in just about all that an overseas adventure can offer!

One World: Society & The Environment

This social issues and environment program focuses on vocabulary building while addressing important environmental and social issues of today. Students attend ESL classes in the morning. Afternoons are spent visiting and volunteering at local organizations. One full day excursion per week is also included. Possible excursions and volunteer activities include visits to First Nations Cultural Centres, Senior's Homes, recycling centres, wildlife preservation facilities, and local non-profit organizations. Agricultural tours and nature hikes with a tour guide are also available. Global Partners will customize a program to your specific requests.

Camp Program

Our camp program is a great opportunity to experience the North American outdoors and have a great time making friends with North American youth. This beautiful lakeside camp in Alberta offers two age categories (9-12 years and 13-15 years). During the one-week program, students stay in comfortable cabins. English classes are held each morning. Afternoons and evenings are spent swimming, canoeing, learning outdoor survival skills and singing campfire songs.
