Become a Host Family!

We are always looking for warm, welcoming homes host families. If you are interested in hosting, please complete our host family application form.
If you are interested in hosting for a longer term, we place international students in many communities across Canada. Please complete our online host family application form.
Once your application is processed, one of our host family recruiters will contact you to set up a time for an in-home interview.

The Homestay Concept
Global Partners believes that to best learn another language and culture, complete immersion is needed. Our language classes, excursions and activities in the community are complimented by the Homestay aspect of our programs. Program participants are not guests in North American homes; they are members of North American families, participating in all that North American family life has to offer. We are committed to providing our students with outstanding, quality host families. All potential host families must provide at least two references which are thoroughly checked by Global Partners' Program Coordinators. An interview is conducted with all members of the family, and a visit is made to the family's home to ensure that the student's accommodations are acceptable. Our coordinators are in constant contact with host families and students during throughout the program.

Becoming a GPI Host Family
We are always looking for more host families to add to our 'Global Family'. Host families need to be able to meet the following conditions:

• Have a genuine interest in learning about other people and places
• Have the space to add another family member
• Have enough time for appropriate supervision and regular interaction with the student
• Be flexible and able to maintain a sense of humour
• Be willing to take the time to learn and understand a new culture
• Be willing to promote North America by providing opportunities for international students to discover and experience our culture first hand
• Be comprised of at least two related family members
• English must be your first language
• Provide 3 meals per day, including a bagged lunch on school days
• Provide a private bedroom for the student
